Beach Chic!

Most LA Belle's spend spring break on the snow white beaches of gorgeous Destin, Florida and this year I had the pleasure of running into some very stylish ladies. I had to snap a pic of Charlotte and Samantha sporting the epitome of beach chic with these one-piece rompers. An easy and casual outfit, yet so put together sporting the it style of the season! Charlotte's "Hot & Delicious" dark denim strapless was purchased at Rodeo Boutique in Baton Rouge and Samantha's adorable "Celebrity Pink Jeans" pink belted romper is from Vertigo also in Baton Rouge and seriously shows off her perfect tan. Both retail at under $60 for a full outfit steal!

it's pouring out!

The sky opened up in a torrential downpour this morning and it made me run upstairs and dig a VIP staple of my bad weather wardrobe out of my closet... I'd searched for the perfect rain boots for a year before buying these "Hunter Lady N's" last fall and I'm super excited for the opportunity to give them a late Spring re-appearance!  (Keep in mind it's pretty hot down here) Made since 1856 to withstand Scotland and Britain's unpredictable weather as well as protect the feet of troops during WWI/II, I figure they could survive a southern squall.  Woo hoo for Louisiana rain...

spotted: omelle (pronounced: ähm' elle)

Louisiana native Cherise Angelle has partnered with fellow FIDM graduate Nicole LaFave to create the fabulous new shoe collection they've cleverly coined, omelle.  The collection features styles that are both sleek and stunning with a playful and girly side that just screams shoe fantasy.  The combination of texture and attention to detail are truly incredible with the "Andre" shown above topping my list of favs!  Blake Lively (Gossip Girl's Serena) was just "spotted" on set donning the "Cecilia" bootie, so I'd say omelle's starting out on the right foot ...

My Newest Spring Love

The basic cardi is always a key item for transitioning into spring and my newest obsession is this fun number...  Matthew Williamson continues his award winning design streak with this silk beaded cardigan. The embellishment reminds me a little of something patched up and Raggedy Ann-esque, yet with a polished twist.  The basic khaki color would be perfectly paired with bright spring floral tops or dresses and I'd love to wear it with leggings and a simple white v-neck or with jeans into the fall...  There are definitely articles of clothing meant to be lived in and this is one!

ABC Carpet and Home

Anyone who knows me at all knows that when I am in New York, this store calls me like a beacon... I don't ever spend a long time there, or a lot of money, but I fell like my obsession with this place is worth a blog posting (though this will probably be the first of many about ABCC&H). The place is visually amazing. There are tons of home accessories, tableware, candles, textiles, etc, absolutely everywhere and piled high to the rafters. The sheer volume of goods creates a quite the textural effect.  Basically I want to touch everything.  You can also pretty much find anything and everything furniture related you'd want at this store.  It's ridiculous the variety of styles and tastes covered by the merch - including everything from retro and modern to shabby chic and serious antiques under one roof of seven floors of glorious interior goods. It's eclectic, but if you have time to pass through it's ALWAYS worth a peak. Planning a trip up soon to manage my withdrawal!

Net-A-Porter's Newest Boutique!

I have to say that even though I can't always afford the clothes, I absolutely LOVE shopping on net-a-porter's boutiques.   They always have a great ideas for any outfit requirement.  The newest boutique, just announced today, focuses on wedding wear and hit home for me for a few reasons:
  1. I have three weddings to attend this Spring and though I love weddings, especially those of close friends and family, there's always that problem of what to wear.  The site's suggestions on wedding guest attire are truly sensational and are sure to get you pumped for making an event appearance!
  2. Can you imagine wearing this adorable Thread Social one-shoulder bridesmaid dress this Spring instead of any of the horrible options frequently chosen to complement the bride?  Sheer heaven.  If only we were all so fashion bewitched.
  3. And lastly... if/when I succumb to eternal commitment, I would absolutely love to wear couture over a "whipped cream" wedding gown.  I've been seriously obsessed with this Roberto Cavalli gown for months, lusting after it and desperately wanting to order it to wear to a mardi gras ball this year. Sadly, white is just not the best color for ball debauchery, so this gown will stay on my list of obsessions for now...

Let the blogging adventure begin...

So, I recently lost my job in real estate investment banking and like many of my peers I'm taking some time off and doing some soul searching to discover what really makes me tick.  Turns out all those long hours spent working on excel spreadsheets and powerpoint presentations weren't quite it!  I decided to start blogging in an effort to help me explore the things I truly love - fashion, interior design, and world travel.  Enjoy!
